Washing Feet

It has been a crazy month with the Corona-virus pandemic. Many things are out of our control and many unknowns lie ahead. Comfort comes to me from Bedrock Truth 10 which comes from Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

I am encouraged with all the great stories of people doing acts of kindness to support their family, neighbors, friends, or some other person in need. I believe that when challenges or tough times come our way, we have a choice as to how we will deal with these crises, regardless of degrees of severity.

I hope our society becomes more like Jesus in the upper room after the last supper on Thursday before He was crucified. Jesus washed the disciples’ feet. His message to His followers was born of humility and a servant mind; these were required to be to be a follower of Christ.

In Matthew 20:28, we read that He came “… not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” In this time, may we find ways to serve others in their situation of need. I pray that when this pandemic is behind us, we don’t go back to our “old normal;” rather, to a new normal where we value relationships more, invest in each other freely, and commit to a relationship with God that pushes out all fear.

Live boldly. Live without fear. Become a part of a better future for you and those about whom you care. Happy Easter!
